What are cookies?

„Cookies“ are small text files, made up of letters and numbers, which will be saved on your computer, mobile phone or other terminal equipment through which it accesses the internet. The cookie is installed through a request made by the user's terminal to the “HONEST LOGISTICS“ Ltd. server or to a third-party server.

What are cookies used for?

These files make it possible, generally speaking, to recognise the user's terminal and present content in a way that is relevant and tailored to the user's preferences. Cookies ensure that users have a good experience and assist “HONEST LOGISTICS“ Ltd. in its efforts to provide services that are as well-suited as possible to users, for example regarding online privacy preferences, shopping baskets, or relevant advertisements. They are also used in the preparation of anonymous summarised statistics that help us understand how users benefit from our web pages, allowing us to improve their structure and content without identifying individual users.

What cookies do we use?

We use two types of cookies: session and persistent. Session cookies are temporary files that remain in the terminal until the end of the user session or the closure of the application. Persistent cookies remain on the user's terminal for the duration specified by the cookie's parameters or until they are manually deleted by the user.

How are cookies used by the Platforms?

When visiting the Platforms, the following types of cookies may be left:

  • Cookies necessary for the operation of the Platforms;
  • Analytical cookies;

Cookies and/or other similar necessary technologies are essential for the proper functioning of the Platforms, being set on your device when you access the Platforms or as a result of actions taken on the Platforms, as the case may be. You can set your browser to block „cookies“, but in this case, some sections of the Platforms will not work correctly.

Do cookies or similar technologies contain personal data?

Cookies or other similar technologies do not in themselves require personal information to be used and in many cases, do not even identify individual internet users. However, there are situations where personal data may be collected through the use of cookies to facilitate certain user functions, or to provide the user with an experience that is tailored to their preferences. This data is encrypted in a way that makes unauthorised access to it impossible.

Detailed information on the options and methods for managing cookies can be found in the settings area of the application (your web browser). Restricting the use of cookies may affect some of the functionalities of the Platforms.

Why are cookies and/or other similar technologies important for the internet?

Cookies and/or other similar technologies play a central role in the effective functioning of the internet, helping to create a user-friendly experience and a stay that is tailored to the interests and preferences of each user. Refusing or disabling cookies may render some Platforms or parts of Platforms unusable. Disabling cookies does not mean that you will no longer receive online advertising according to legislation, but only that it will no longer be able to take into account your preferences and interests, as evidenced by your browsing behaviour on the internet.

Examples of essential cookies (for which user consent via profile is not required):

  • Content and services tailored to user preferences – product and service categories;
  • Offers tailored to user interests;
  • Password saving;
  • Saving child protection filters for internet content (family mode options, safe search function);
  • Limiting ad frequency – restricting the number of times a given ad is shown to a specific user on the Platforms;
  • Providing user-friendly advertising;
  • The measurement, optimisation and adaptation of analytics features – such as confirmation of a certain level of traffic on the Platforms, the type of content being viewed, and how a user accesses the Platforms (e.g. via search engines, directly, from other websites, etc.). The Platforms process these analyses regarding their use to improve services for the benefit of users.

Security and Privacy Questions

In principle, browsers have built-in privacy settings that provide different levels of cookie acceptance, validity periods, and automatic deletion once the user has visited a particular site.

Other security aspects related to cookies:

  • Personalising browser settings regarding cookies to achieve your preferred level of safety when using cookies.
  • If you are the only person who uses a particular computer, you can set whether you want a longer storage period for your browsing history and personal access data.
  • If you share access to a particular computer, you can consider setting up your browser to delete your individual browsing data each time you close it. This is one option for accessing sites that use cookies and for deleting all information from your visit when you finish your session.
